North Syracuse Man arrested on Robbery charges

On Tuesday, November 6, 2018 at approximately 8:39 p.m., New York State Police, along with members from the village of North Syracuse Police Department and the Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office responded to the Rite Aid store located at 114 North Main Street in the village of North Syracuse for a reported robbery that just occurred.
The preliminary investigation revealed a male wearing all black clothing entered the store, obtained a beverage and proceeded to the checkout counter. The male then implied that he had a weapon, and demanded the cashier retrieve cash from the register. The cashier provided the money from the register and the male exited the store.
The suspect, positively identified as William R. Green, age 39, from 116 Church Street in North Syracuse was charged with Robbery 3rd degree, a class “D” felony. He was transported to the Onondaga County Justice Center pending centralized arraignment.
Due to the quick response of all officers in this multi-agency effort, the suspect was apprehended quickly and a portion of the proceeds were recovered.
