Update:

Autopsies have been completed on Christina Arvidson, age 31, and Dustin McMahon, age 24, both of Richmondville, NY.

The cause of death for Christina Arvidson was a gunshot wound to the head, and the manner of death has been ruled a homicide. The cause of death for Dustin McMahon was a gusnhot would to the head, and the manner of death has been ruled suicide. The autopsy results are consistent with the evidence located at the scene.

State Police continue to actively investigate the circumstances that led to the murder-suicide.

The New York State Police are releasing the identities of the deceased:

Dustin McMahon age 24, Richmondville, NY
Christina Arvidson age 31, Richmondville, NY


The investigation is continuing.

The New York State Police are investigating the suspicious deaths of two individuals in the town of Summit, Schoharie County.
 
State Police were called to the scene on Rossman Valley Road on Tuesday.
 
A preliminary investigation has revealed the individuals died overnight Monday.  
 
No further details are available at this time, updates will be posted on the State Police Online Newsroom.
