Vermont man arrested for possession of Cocaine subsequent to a traffic stop.

 David L. Santiago 


Bethlehem, NY – On November 9, 2018, at approximately 4:45 a.m., State Police stopped a vehicle on I-87, in the town of Bethlehem for vehicle and traffic violations. During the interviewing of the driver David L. Santiago, age 34, of Proctor, VT in regards to the traffic violations, probable cause to search the vehicle and its occupants was established. During the searching of Santiago cocaine was located on his person. Santiago was taken into custody, transported and processed at SP Albany and subsequently charged with:  
 
  • Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd degree; a Class B Felony (with intent to sell)   
  • Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd degree; a Class B Felony (narcotic drug)  
  • Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 5th degree; a Class D Felony
  • Conceal/Alter/Destroy Physical Evidence; a Class E Felony
  • Resisting Arrest; a Class A Misdemeanor
  • Obstruction of Governmental Administration 2nd degree; a Class A Misdemeanor
  • Vehicle and Traffic Violations  
  
 
Santiago was arraigned in the Town of Bethlehem Court and remanded to the Albany County Jail without bail. No return court date available at this time.
