Troopers responded to the intersection of State Route 30 and North Main Street in the Town of Mayfield for a 2 car property damage motor vehicle accident. While interviewing the persons involved, Troopers observed signs of impairment in one of the drivers, identified as Keith M. Trickler Jr, of St. Johnsville, NY. Field sobriety testing was administered, which Trickler failed, however alcohol intoxication was ruled out. A State Police Drug Recognition Expert (DRE) was called in to assist the investigation. Following the DRE’s evaluation, Trickler was arrested for Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs. Trickler submitted to a blood draw, and the sample was forwarded to the State Police Forensic Investigation Center in Albany, NY for toxicology analysis. Trickler was processed at SP Mayfield, issued tickets returnable to the Town of Mayfield Court on December 11, 2018, and released to a sober party.
