State Police investigate burglary in Norfolk

On December 1, 2018, at approximately 8:44 a.m., State Police responded to a residence on Lime Hollow road in Norfolk, for a report of an assault. An investigation revealed that 36-year-old Heather R. Baxter, of Norfolk, Michelle L. Caringi, 44, of Norfolk, 34-year-old Mark P. Perkins, of Massena, and Tracy A. Durant, 40, of Norfolk, entered the residence there without permission. An altercation ensued, which led to Baxter, Caringi, Perkins and Durant leaving the residence in possession of cash and a cell phone belonging to the victim.
All four suspects were arrested and charged with one count each of Burglary 1st degree. Following arraignments in the Town of Norfolk Court, Baxter was remanded to St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility in lieu of $500 cash bail, or $1,000 bail. Durant was released under the supervision of probation. Perkins was remanded to St. Lawrence County Jail on no bail due to prior felony convictions. Caringi was remanded to St. Lawrence County Jail in lieu of $1,000 cash bail, or $2,000 bail.
