Schenectady, NY pair arrested for possessing over 2 pounds of Marihuana subsequent to a traffic stop.

Woodbury, NY – On December 12, 2018, at approximately 6:00 p.m., State Police stopped a vehicle on I-87, in the town of Woodbury for multiple vehicle and traffic violations. During the Trooper’s interview of the driver for the traffic violations probable cause to search the vehicle and its occupants was established. The driver Robert E. Hinton, age 52, of Schenectady, NY and his passenger Jheryl G. Smith, age 30, of Schenectady, NY were found to be in possession of over 2 pounds of Marihuana. Both subjects were taken into custody, transported and processed at SP Newburgh where they were subsequently charged with:
Both subjects were arraigned in the Town of Woodbury Court and remanded to the Orange County Jail in lieu of $15,000. Cash or $25,000. Bond for (Hinton) No bail for (Smith). Return court date of December 19, 2018 at 5:00 p.m. has been set in the Town of Woodbury.
