Peru man arrested for forgery

On January 4, 2019, at approximately 11:14 a.m., State Police responded to Kinney Drugs, 3 Gorman Way, in Peru, for a report of a false prescription. An investigation revealed that an individual, identified as Joey K. Stubbs, 50, of Peru, turned in a prescription in an attempt to obtain hydromorphone. The prescription was discovered to be forged and photocopied.
Stubbs was arrested and charged with Forgery 2nd degree and Possession of a Forged Instrument 2nd degree, both class D felonies. He was arraigned at the Peru Town Court and was remanded to the Clinton County Jail in lieu of $2,500 cash bail or $5,000 bail bond.
