Bronx, NY woman arrested for Reckless Driving after pursuit on Thruway with State Police.

Dominque H. Murphy

Greenburgh, NY – On January 7, 2019, at approximately 9:15 p.m., State Police stopped a vehicle on I-87 in the Town of Greenburgh for a vehicle and traffic violation.  After conducting a license check on the driver, Dominque H. Murphy, 33, of Bronx, NY, it was determined she was unlicensed.  While State Police interviewed her further, Murphy fled the scene of the traffic stop in her vehicle and a pursuit ensued for approximately 7 miles.  State Police terminated the pursuit when it reached the Bronx County line, but patrolled to Murphy’s residence where she was located and taken into custody.  She was transported to SP Tarrytown and subsequently charged with the following:
  • Unlawful Fleeing a Police Officer in a Motor Vehicle in the 3rd degree; a Class A Misdemeanor
  • Obstructing Governmental Administration in the 2nd degree; a Class A Misdemeanor
  • Reckless Driving; an Unclassified Misdemeanor
  • Vehicle and Traffic Violations
Murphy was issued appearance tickets and released.  A return court date of January 22, 2019 at 9:30 a.m. in the Town of Greenburgh has been set.
