Brunswick Troopers arrest Troy man after crashing car

State Police in Brunswick arrested 41 year old Terrell M. Merritt of Troy for Reckless Driving, Driving While Intoxicated, Unlawful Possession of Marihuana, and Criminal Mischief 4th Degree (recklessly damaged property greater than $ 250). Merritt was operating a vehicle eastbound on Congress Street in Troy when he lost control and crossed into the westbound lane, left the roadway, and struck a parked vehicle. Troopers arrived on scene and located Merritt in the driver's seat. He was uninjured. While being interviewed by the Trooper, Merritt showed signs of intoxication. He was taken into custody and transported to the Brunswick barracks. Merritt was also found to be in possession of marihuana. After submitting to a breath test, his blood alcohol result was .16%. Merritt was issued tickets and released on bail. He is scheduled to appear in the City of Troy Court at a later date.
