Pedestrian in serious condition after being struck by vehicle in Oneonta

PRESS RELEASE

On Friday, February 15, 2019 at approximately 6:54 p.m., New York State Police at Oneonta responded to a pedestrian that was struck by a vehicle on State Route 23 near the entrance to Walmart in the town of Oneonta. 

An investigation revealed that a pedestrian disregarded the crosswalk sign and crossed in front of the vehicle's path on State Route 23.  The pedestrian has been identified as 62-year-old Steven A. Grant of Oneonta, NY and was treated at the scene by Oneonta EMS.  He was then transported to the Walmart parking lot where he was airlifted by LifeNet to Wilson Memorial Hospital with serious injuries.  The driver of the vehicle, a 31-year-old male has been cooperative with troopers.  At this time, no tickets have been issued.  The investigation is continuing.
