Albany, NY man arrested for possessing cocaine following a traffic stop on the Thruway.

  David M. Jones


Woodbury, NY – On March 11, 2019, at approximately 3:52 a.m., State Police stopped a car on I-87 in the town of Woodbury for a vehicle and traffic violation.  While interviewing the driver, probable cause to search the vehicle was established.  The driver, David M. Jones, 31, of Albany, NY, was found to be in possession of approximately 186 grams of Cocaine.  He was taken into custody, transported to SP Newburgh, and charged with the following:
 
  • Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 2rd degree; a Class A Felony
  • Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd degree (with intent to sell); a Class B Felony
  • Vehicle and Traffic Violations
 
Jones was arraigned before the Town of Monroe Court and remanded to Orange County Jail without bail.  No return court date available at this time.
