Update on shooting in AuSable Forks

Autopsy update: On March 14, 2019, an autopsy was performed on Goyette by Doctor Michael Sikirica at the Albany Medical Center. Doctor Sikirica determined the cause of death to be severe skull fractures and brain injuries due to a gunshot wound. Clinton County Coorner David F. Donah ruled the manner of death to be homicide.
This remains under investigation.
State police have arrested 30-year-old David J. Bova of Ausable Forks. He was charged with one count of Murder 2nd degree. Bova was arraigned in Black Brook Town Court and remanded to the Clinton County Jail on no bail.
This case remains under investigation.
The victim has been identified as Magen Goyette, 30, of AuSable Forks. She was transported to the University of Vermont Healthcare Network at the Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital in Plattsburgh where she was pronounced deceased.
One man is in custody and charges are pending.
