Connecticut man arrested for DWI with a B.A.C. more than twice the legal limit following an accident.

Elmsford, NY – On May 11, 2019, at approximately 3:39 a.m., State Police responded to motor vehicle accident on I-287 in the village of Elmsford. The investigation revealed a Chrysler Town & Country minivan became disabled in the right lane and was struck by a Nissan Altima who failed to see the minivan stopped in the lane. The driver of the Chrysler, Ricardo D. Gavilanes-Teran, 38, of Stamford, CT was uninjured and was determined to be intoxicated. He was transported and processed at SP Tarrytown where his blood alcohol content was determined to be 0.18%.
Gavilanes-Teran was charged with Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated; an Unclassified Misdemeanor and multiple Vehicle and Traffic Violations.
He was turned over to a sober third party and released on an appearance ticket returnable to the Village of Elmsford Court later this month. No other parties were injured in the accident.
