Syracuse man arrested for Felony DWI on the Thruway.

Van Buren, NY – On May 12, 2019, at approximately 3:28 a.m., State Police stopped a vehicle on I-90 in the town of Van Buren for vehicle and traffic violations. After interviewing the driver, Howard Brown, 44, of Syracuse, NY, he was found to be intoxicated and had a suspended license. Brown was arrested and transported to SP Syracuse where he refused to submit to a breath test to determine the alcohol content in his system.
Additionally, Brown has a prior DWI conviction within the last 10 years and is required to operate a vehicle with an ignition interlock device. As a result, he was charged with Driving While Intoxicated; a Class E Felony, Aggravated Unlicensed Operation 1st degree; a Class E Felony, Operating a Motor Vehicle with no Ignition Interlock Device; a Class A Misdemeanor, and multiple Vehicle and Traffic Violations.
Brown was issued appearance tickets returnable to the Town of Van Buren Court on May 22, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. He was transported to Onondaga Correctional Facility and lodged for Centralized arraignment.
