Austerlitz, New York – On May 15, 2019, the New York State Police from the Livingston barracks arrested Jordan T. Mair, age 22, of Troy, NY, for eleven counts of Reckless Endangerment in the 1st degree, a class D felony, Fleeing an Officer in a Motor Vehicle in the 3rd degree, Resisting arrest, both class A misdemeanors, Reckless Driving, and Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the 3rd Degree, both unclassified misdemeanors.
On May 15, 2019, at approximately 1:50 p.m., a Trooper attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a 2006 Mercury sedan for a violation of the vehicle and traffic law on the Taconic State Parkway in the town of Austerlitz. The operator refused to comply, and drastically increased his vehicle’s speed while in a New York State Department of Transportation work zone. The Trooper slowed his response in the interest of public safety in a work zone, and then observed the suspect vehicle unsuccessfully navigate the exit ramp to State Route 203. The operator, later identified as Mair, resisted arrest, but was subsequently taken into custody without further incident.
Mair was arraigned before the town of Claverack Court, and remanded to the Columbia County Jail without bail. Mair is next scheduled to appear before the town of Austerlitz Court on May 20, 2019, at 9:00 a.m.
