Troy Man Arrested on Drug and Possession of Forged Instrument Charges

New York State Troopers based out of the Latham Barracks conducted a traffic stop on April 26th, 2019 on I-787, in the Village of Menands, NY in which they say Michael Murphy, age 20, of Troy, NY, was found to be in possession of a marihuana, and concentrated cannabis.  A further search during the roadside investigation revealed that Murphy possessed a forged Pennsylvania driver's license.  He was subsequently arrested and charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th degree, a misdemeanor, Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument in the 2nd degree, a felony, and Unlawful Possession of  Marihuana, a violation.  Murphy was remanded to the Albany County Jail pre-arraignment and arraigned in the Village of Menands Court where he was released on his own recognizance.  He's due back in court at a later date.
