Albany man arrested for drug possession after doing burnouts in a rental vehicle

Albany, NY – On May 20, 2019, New York State Troopers (SP Capital) stopped a vehicle on Eagle Street in the City of Albany for a vehicle and traffic violation, unsafe start. The vehicle left McDonald's Parking lot doing a burnout and was subsequently stopped shortly after by troopers. During the interview of the driver, probable cause to search the vehicle was established. The driver, Teon Williams, 19, of Albany, NY, was found to be in possession of approximately 1.6 grams of cocaine, several concentrated cannabis cartridges, Hydrocodone pills, and Xanax pills.
Mr. Williams was taken into custody and transported to SP Capital where he was processed and charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 5th degree; a Class D Felony, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th degree (8 Counts); Class A Misdemeanor, Controlled Substance Not in Original Container: Violation, and numerous Vehicle and Traffic Violations.
He was held overnight at the Albany County Correctional Facility and arraigned on May 21, 2019 at 9 a.m. at the City of Albany Criminal Court where he was released in the supervision of Albany County Probation. He is to return to court on May 24, 2019 at 8:30 a.m.
