Arcade man arrested for DWAI-Drugs, aggravated unlicensed operation, false personation in Sardinia

On May 19, 2019, SP Machias Troopers arrested Daniel J. Wargo, 19, of Arcade, NY for Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs, Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle 1st Degree, False Personation, Unlawful Possession of Marihuana, and several traffic violations.

During a traffic stop on State Route 39 in the town of Sardinia, Wargo was exhibiting obvious signs of impairment. He was also found to be in possession of marijuana and concentrated cannabis, which he admitted to using prior to operating his vehicle. Wargo subsequently failed standardized field sobriety tests at the scene. He was arrested and transported to SP Machias, where a chemical breath test revealed him to have a 0.00% BAC. A Drug Recognition Expert evaluation confirmed Wargo to be impaired. During processing, Troopers determined Wargo had identified himself using a false name.

Wargo was arraigned in Sardinia Town Court and remanded to the Erie County Holding Center in lieu of $250 bail.
