State Police conducted an Underage Drinking Initiative in Oneida County

PRESS RELEASE

On May 10, 2019, the New York State Police conducted an Underage Drinking Initiative in Oneida County at locations in the Cities of Utica and Rome and in the Towns of Marcy, Trenton, Floyd, Whitestown, Westmoreland, and Kirkland.

As a result of the initiative, the following locations were checked and in compliance:

•    Rock’s Liquor 280 Oriskany Blvd, Yorkville, NY
•    Speedway 5100 Commercial Dr, Yorkville, NY
•    Kinney’s  40 Oriskany Blvd, Whitesboro, NY
•    Rite Pharmacy 141 Oriskany Blvd, Whitesboro, NY
•    Bryne Dairy 185 Oriskany Blvd, Whitesboro, NY
•    Mohawk Fuel & Food Mart  5773 ST-219 Marcy, NY
•    Cliff’s Local Market  8429 NY-69, Oriskany, NY
•    Sunoco Famco Express 6787 Martin St, Rome, NY
•    Stewart’s Shops 5319 NY-233, Westmoreland, NY
•    Fastrac 9249 River Road Marcy, NY
•    Speedway 148 N Genesee St, Utica, NY
•    Fastrac 384 N Genesee St, Utica, NY
•    Fastrac   1301 Herkimer Rd, Utica, NY
•    Byrne Dairy 20 Herkimer Rd, Utica, NY

The following location was found NOT to be in compliance with the laws dealing with the sale of alcohol to persons under the age of 21:

•    Nice-N-Easy 7296 W Main St, Westmoreland, NY 13490
As a result of the initiative, Dakota Thieme, age 24 from Westmoreland, NY was charged with Unlawfully dealing with a child in the first degree (PL 160.20) and Prohibitive sale of alcohol to a person under twenty-one years old (ABC 65-1).

The following location was found NOT to be in compliance with the laws dealing with the sale of alcohol to persons under the age of 21:

•    Red’s Market 8528 ST-365 Stittville, NY 13469
As a result of the initiative, Kamryn McGrew, age 20 from Remsen, NY was charged with Unlawfully dealing with a child in the first degree (PL 160.20) and Prohibitive sale of alcohol to a person under twenty-one years old (ABC 65-1).
