On May 24, 2019, the New York State Police, Schenectady County Sheriff’s Department and the Glenville Police Department conducted a sobriety checkpoint. The checkpoint was set up on Freemans Bridge Road in Glenville. The purpose of checkpoints like these is to deter drunk driving. Along with the check point there were extra patrol cars assigned to the area. Three arrests were made during the event. Two were for Driving While Intoxicated and one for Driving While Impaired by drugs. Additionally, 13 other tickets were issued for traffic violations.
We would like to thank all the designated drivers and those that chose to use hired transportation for keeping the roadway safe during this Memorial Day weekend.
