Bronx men arrested for possessing marijuana following a traffic stop on the Thruway.

Tuxedo, NY – On May 31, 2019 at approximately 8:20 p.m., State Police stopped a vehicle on I-87 in the town of Tuxedo for a vehicle and traffic violation. During the interview of the driver, probable cause to search the vehicle was established. The driver, Ruben A. Pitre-Colon, 25, of Bronx, NY, was found to be in possession of approximately 17.5 grams of marijuana. The passenger, Damien R. Torres, 23, of Bronx, NY was found to be in possession of approximately 108.75 grams (more than 3 ounces) of marijuana.
Both subjects were taken into custody, transported, and processed at SP Newburgh where Torres was charged with Criminal Possession of Marijuana 4th degree; a Class A Misdemeanor. Pitre-Colon was charged with Unlawful Possession of Marijuana and a vehicle and traffic violation.
They were both released with Appearance Tickets returnable to the Town of Tuxedo Court on June 27, 2019 at 4:00 p.m.
