Burglary of the Guilderland Service Area result in 2 teens being arrested.

Guilderland, NY – On June 1, 2019 at approximately 4:00 a.m., State Police out of Albany responded to a Burglary that occurred at the Guilderland Service Area Mobil Gas Station on the I-90. 
 
It was reported that 2 teens wearing ski masks jumped over the gas station counter and stole cigarettes and other tobacco products.  A preliminary investigation determined that the suspects did not enter and leave via the Thruway, but through the employee entrance.  Patrols quickly notified surrounding agencies of the burglary and the suspects’ descriptions that were provided by the gas station employee.
 
State Police in Albany FIU (Forensic Investigation Unit) Crime Scene Technician responded to Guilderland Service Area to assist with the investigation. 
 
A short time later, Guilderland PD contacted State Police after conducting a traffic stop in the town of Guilderland of 2 teens who were involved in an unrelated burglary of an additional gas station.  State Police responded to Guilderland PD where both the teens confessed to the Service Area burglary and were charged with Burglary 3rd degree; a Class D Felony and Conspiracy 5th degree; a Class A Misdemeanor. 
 
Both teens are to return to the Town of Guilderland Court on a later date.
