Sloatsburg, NY – On June 9, 2019, at approximately 1:50 a.m., State Police located a vehicle which had run out of gas on I-87 in the village of Sloatsburg.  The driver of the vehicle, Vladimir Savichev, 44, of Brooklyn, NY, was found to be intoxicated while traveling with his children, ages 4 and 2.  The children were turned over to a sober family member. 
 
Savichev was taken into custody, transported, and processed at SP Newburgh, where his blood alcohol content was determined to be 0.27%.  He was subsequently charged with Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated with a Child in the Vehicle; a Class E Felony, Endangering the Welfare of a Child; a Class A Misdemeanor, and multiple Vehicle and Traffic Violations.
 
Savichev was arraigned before the Village of Suffern Court and remanded to Rockland County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash bail or bond.  A return court date of June 26, 2019 at 5:00 p.m. has been set in the Village of Sloatsburg.
