Three men arrested on drug charges in Malta

On 06/12/19, the State Police in Malta arrested three Vermont men for possessing 8.8 ounces of crack- cocaine and a small quantity of marijuana. The drugs were discovered during a traffic stop on I-87 in the Town of Malta. Forty-year old Stanley Sylvestre from Winooski, VT; forty-eight year old Gregory Base from Barry, VT; and twenty-eight year old Jacob Francis from Winooski, VT were all arrested and charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 1st degree, Criminal Possession of Controlled Substance in the 3rd degree with intent to sell, and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th degree. In addition, Sylevestre and Francis were each charged with Unlawful Possession of Marijuana. All three were arraigned in the Town of Malta Court and remanded to the Saratoga County Jail without bail. All three have been scheduled to reappear in the Town of Malta Court on 06/17/19 @ 930am.
