New York State Police responded to TJ Watson Elementary in the town of Owego after receiving a 911 call that a person wearing all black was carrying a rifle and silver pistol in the parking lot. The incident occurred after school hours, at approximately 6:49 p.m. on Wednesday. Several troopers and Tioga County Sheriff’s Deputies responded.
A trooper located the suspect walking out of the woods holding what appeared to be a black handgun, a silver handgun and a black and brown long gun. An investigation revealed the guns were BB guns but appeared to be real guns. The 17-year-old suspect was issued an appearance ticket for the violation of Unlawful Possession of a Weapon on School Grounds and will appear in the town of Owego court on June 25, 2019.
