Accident on I-88 results in arrest for having a loaded and unregistered firearm

On June 16, 2019 at approximately 12:54 p.m., New York State Police at Oneonta arrested Phillip M. Davis, age 25 or Strasburg, VA for two counts of the felony of Criminal Possession of a Firearm.
A trooper responded to an accident involving a motorcycle on Interstate 88 in Worcester. Davis told the trooper that when a tractor trailer passed him, he applied his brakes and lost control of his Harley. Davis told the trooper he did not suffer any injuries. During the investigation, it was discovered that Davis was in possession of two guns in the rear storage area of his motorcycle. Both guns had rounds in the magazine, one had a round chambered. Davis does not possess a pistol permit. He was arrested and arraigned in the town of Worcester court where he was remanded to the Otsego County Jail on $2000 cash bail or $4000 bond. Davis will appear in court on July 2, 2019 for a felony hearing.
