Southport man arrested on drug and weapons charges

PRESS RELEASE

 

On June 19, 2019, members of the New York State Police Violent Gang and Narcotics Enforcement Team (VGNET), TroopE Uniform ForceElmira Police Department and the Chemung County Sheriff’s Office conducted a narcotic investigation at 245 Allen Street in the town of Southport, NY.         

 

Investigators seized approximately 4 grams of cocaine, drug paraphernalia, digital scales and a loaded handgun.    

 

As a result of the investigation, Donald G. Taylor, 32, of Southport, NY was arrested for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd degree (class B felony), Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd degree (class C felony) and Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia 2nd degree (class A misdemeanor).  

 

Youngs was arraigned in the Town of Southport Court and remanded to the Steuben County Jail on bail.  

 

The arrests stemmed from an investigation conducted by the New York State Police, the Elmira Police Department and the Chemung County Sheriff’s Office.
