State Police seek public assistance with identifying the driver who fled from a stolen vehicle in Ilion

State Police in Herkimer arrested 25-year-old, Trequan M. Spratt of Utica, NY for Criminal Mischief 4th degree, (class “A” misdemeanor), Resisting Arrest (class “A” misdemeanor), and Unlawful Possession of Marihuana, a violation.
On June 22, 2019, State Police attempted to stop a Toyota Camry on Acme Road, in the town of Frankfort for a vehicle and traffic violation. The vehicle continued down several streets and eventually turned on Shull Street into the village of Ilion. The vehicle struck a curb, became airborne and landed in the yard of 16 Shull Street, where the driver and passenger both fled on foot from the vehicle. The passenger, identified as Trequan Spratt, was observed breaking through a wooden fence and was subsequently found hiding behind a residence where he was taken into custody. Spratt, who was also wanted by Utica Police Department for Kidnapping and Gang Assault charges, was issued appearance tickets for the charges above and turned over to members of the Utica Police Department.
State Police is attempting to identify the driver who fled from the scene. The driver is described as a black male, approximately 5’ 9” to 6’ 0 feet tall, wearing dark clothing, last seen fleeing on foot from 16 Shull Street in the village of Ilion. The Toyota Camry was reported stolen from a Henry Street address in the city of Rome on yesterday’s date.
