Schenectady Residents arrested for Falsifying Business Records and Grand Larceny after a joint Department of Labor and State Police Investigations.

New York State Dept. of Labor Investigators were assisted by the State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigations from SP Princetown with the arrest of a 36-year-old Schenectady man and a 36-year-old Schenectady woman for Class E Felony of Falsifying Business Records 1st and the Class D Felony of Grand Larceny 3rd.
Sewkaran D. Bisnauth and Alison A. Chandler both of Schenectady, NY were arrested following separate investigations into the unlawful collection of unemployment benefits. Sewkaran Bisnauth did steal $5,437.50 that he obtained by applying for and receiving unemployment benefits that he was not entitled to. Alison Chander did steal $4,123 that she obtained by applying for and receiving unemployment benefits that she was not entitled to. In applying for the benefits, both Bisnauth and Chandler also falsified business records and filed said records with the NYS Dept. of Labor while residing in the City of Schenectady.
Bisnauth and Chandler were processed for said charges at SP Princetown. They were both given a future court date to appear in the City of Schenectady Court.
