Dispute over loud music leads to arrest

On July 10, 2019 at approximately 8:20 p.m., New York State Police at Oneonta arrested Kenneth A. Friedlander, age 56 of Oneonta, NY for the misdemeanor of Assault in the third degree and the violation of Harassment in the second degree.
Troopers were dispatched to Oneida Street in the town of Oneonta for a dispute. Two people told troopers they had a disagreement with Friedlander over the volume of his music playing outside of his trailer. The two people told troopers they approached Friedlander, asking him to turn down his music. An altercation ensued. One person accused Friedlander of punching her in the face, causing a black eye. Another person told troopers he tried to get in the middle of the altercation to break it up when he was punched in the mouth, causing two teeth to break.
Friedlander was arrested and arraigned in the town of Oneonta court and subsequently remanded to the Otsego County Jail on $500 cash bail or $1,000 bond.
