Queens man arrested for possessing stolen license plates

Staten Island, New York – On July 9, 2019 at approximately 2:00 p.m., a Trooper from SP Staten Island arrested Plajdi Tupi, age 19, of Queens, New York, for Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the 5th Degree, a class A misdemeanor.
The Trooper was patrolling the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge and conducted a traffic stop on a tan-colored 1996 Toyota Camry, operated by Tupi, for a violation of the vehicle and traffic law. The investigation into the incident found Tupi to be in possession of stolen New York State license plates, and he was subsequently arrested.
Tupi was charged with Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the 5th Degree and remanded to Richmond County Central Booking pending arraignment.
