State Police investigate drowning in Harrietstown

On July 12, 2019, at approximately 7:12 p.m., State Police responded to a report of a child missing at Stony Creek Pond, off of Coreys Road in the town of Harrietstown. Ryder A. White, age 4 of Tupper Lake, was missing and believed to be in the water. A trooper dove into the water and retrieved White. He was then transported by EMS to the Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake where he was pronounced deceased at 8:34 p.m., by Dr. Dianna Bryan. An autopsy is scheduled for Monday, July 15, 2019, at the Albany Medical Center.
A preliminary investigation revealed that several young children were playing together when the victim went missing. This case remains under investigation.
