Vermont woman facing drug charges following traffic stop

PRESS RELEASE

On August 11, 2019, State Police in Granville, arrested 43-year-old Rachel L. Wells of Burlington, VT., for 2 two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th degree, Criminal Use of Drug Paraphernalia 2nd degree, and False Personation.
 
Troopers stopped Rachel Wells for a traffic infraction as she traveled down State Route 4 in Fort Ann, shortly before 3:00 a.m. on Sunday Morning. When the patrol spoke with Wells, she identified herself using a false name. Consent was obtained to search her vehicle and revealed that she was in possession of several packets of heroin, 4 plastic containers containing cocaine, and drug paraphernalia. Wells was taken into custody and transported to SP Granville for processing.
 
Following processing Wells was transported to Washington County lockup to await arraignment.
