PRESS RELEASE

New York State Police at Oneonta are investigating a serious crash that has left two teens in serious condition.

On Thursday, September 5, 2019 at approximately 4:31 p.m., troopers were dispatched to the area of Walley Road in the town of Franklin.  Troopers located a 1996 Chevy pick-up truck with a 17-year-old male driver and 14-year-old male passenger crashed into a tree.

An investigation revealed that speed was a contributing factor when the 17-year-old lost control of the vehicle around a curve on Wally Road, spun off the roadway and into a tree.  Both occupants were transported by LifeNet to Albany Medical Center.

The accident remains under investigation.
