PRESS RELEASE

On September 10th, 2019, Troopers out of SP Jamestown arrested Timothy Lunetta, 41, of Falconer, for Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 3rd Degree, two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th Degree and False Personation.

The Troopers responded to Ellington for a report of a bad check complaint.  Investigation revealed that Lunetta wrote a check in excess of $23,000 for the purchase of a 2005 Chevrolet Corvette and when the check bounced, the complainant contacted the police.  Initial attempts to locate Lunetta were unsuccessful until the Troopers received an annoymous tip, locating Lunetta near the Corvette at a Jamestown business.  Lunetta provided a false name to the Troopers but was positively identified by an assisting Trooper upon his arrival to the scene.  Lunetta was placed under arrest and while being searched, a bag containing methamphetamine and two suboxone strips were located in Lunetta's pockets.  Lunetta was transported to SP Jamestown where he was processed.  Further investigation revealed that there were several active warrants for Lunetta, including a parole warrant out of Niagara County.  After processing, Lunetta was transported to the Chautauqua County Jail, pending arraignment.
