Cassadaga resident arrested for several crimes during traffic stop

PRESS RELEASE
 
On October 13th, 2019, Troopers out of SP Jamestown arrested Michael Austin, 39, of Cassadaga, for two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th Degree, two counts of Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia 2nd Degree and Aggravated Unlicensed Operation 3rd Degree. 

Austin was pulled over on Route 60 in Gerry for a traffic violation.  A check of Austin’s driving record revealed that his license was suspended and Austin was subsequently placed under arrest.  A search of Austin and his vehicle revealed bags containing nine grams of methamphetamine, a glass pipe containing methamphetamine residue, a digital scale, baggies, and a cut off straw and a spoon both containing methamphetamine residue.  Austin was processed at SP Jamestown and transported to the Chautauqua County Jail, pending arraignment.
