14 November 2019 Traffic stop leads to drug arrest ![]() NEW YORK STATE POLICE

On November 14th, 2019, Troopers out of SP Jamestown arrested Michael Babbage, 26, of Bemus Point, for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th Degree. The Troopers pulled over a vehicle on Route 430 in Bemus Point for a traffic violation. While speaking to the occupants, the Troopers smelled marijuana emanating from inside the vehicle. The underage driver was found to be in possession of a bag of marijuana and a grinder containing marijuana residue, and Babbage was in possession of a bag containing one gram of heroin and a hypodermic needle and a spoon, both containing heroin residue. The driver was issued a traffic ticket and Babbage was placed under arrest. Babbage was processed at SP Jamestown, released with an appearance ticket, and is scheduled to appear in the town of Ellery Court later in the month.
