State Police investigate fatal hit and run in the Town of Northampton

The New York State Police in Mayfield are currently investigating a fatal car versus pedestrian motor vehicle accident in the Town of Northampton.

Early this morning, a 46-year-old female was located deceased off the roadway of State Route 30 in the area of Sacandaga Outdoor Equipment. During the preliminary investigation, it was determined that the victim was struck by a motor vehicle sometime between the 10:30 p.m. on November 17th and 7:00 a.m. on November 18th. After striking the victim, the involved vehicle left the scene.

At this time, State Police are looking for a red pickup truck with damage to its passenger side headlight assembly. If you have any information regarding this accident or know of a vehicle that matches this description, please contact the New York State Police at 518-630-1700.

The investigation into this accident is currently ongoing, details will be posted to the newsroom when they become available.
