Albany man runs from Troopers after drug buy

PRESS RELEASE

On November 20, 2019, State Police arrested 20-year-old Nasheem H. Brown of Albany, for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd degree (B felony), Tampering with Physical Evidence (E felony), Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th degree (A misdemeanor), Resisting Arrest (A misdemeanor), and Obstruction of Governmental Administration 2nd degree (A misdemeanor).
 
At approximately 3:37 p.m. on Wednesday, Troopers in the area of Green Street in the City of Albany, observed a hand to hand drug transaction take place between two males. When a Trooper approached the subjects one of the men, later identified as Nasheem Brown, fled on foot.
 
While pursuing Brown, the Trooper observed him attempt to throw a plastic corner tie under a vehicle in an attempt to dispose of it. The substance in the plastic corner tie was later determined to be crack cocaine.  
 
Brown was taken into custody and transported to SP Capital for processing.He was arraigned in Colonie Town Court and released to the supervision of Probation. He is due back in Albany City Court at a later date.
