Buffalo woman arrested for Felony Leandra’s Law DWI following a traffic stop on the Thruway.

Buffalo, NY – On November 22, 2019, at approximately 8:50 p.m., State Police stopped a vehicle on I-190 in the city of Buffalo for a vehicle and traffic violation. The driver of the vehicle, Shawnniece T. Pearson, 26, of Buffalo, NY, was found to be intoxicated while traveling with a 3-year-old child. Pearson was taken into custody, transported, and processed at SP Buffalo where her blood alcohol content was determined to be 0.09%.
She was charged with Driving While Intoxicated with a Child in the Vehicle; a Class E Felony and Endangering the Welfare of a Child; a Class A Misdemeanor.
Pearson was released to a sober third party and issued appearance tickets returnable to the City of Buffalo Court on December 3, 2019 at 9:30 a.m.
The child was turned over to a responsible party at the scene of the traffic stop.
