State Police seek public assistance with an animal cruelty case in Herkimer County

On November 23, 2019, State Police in Herkimer responded to the area of 631 Newport Road in the town of Schuyler for a dog complaint.

When troopers arrived, they observed four pitbull mix puppies on the side of the roadway.  One of the puppies was found deceased, and the other three were malnourished and in poor health. It appears the puppies were left on the side of the roadway with a small bucket of water. 

The town of Herkimer Dog Control Officer responded to the scene and took all of the puppies to her facility.

If anyone has any information regarding the puppies that were left along Newport Road in the town of Schuyler, they are asked to contact State Police at (315) 366-6000.
