On November 28, 2019, State Police in New Scotland arrested 22-year-old Robert T. Kennedy Jr. of Westerlo, for Criminal Mischief 3rd degree (E felony), Assault 3rd degree (A misdemeanor), Criminal Obstruction of Breathing (A misdemeanor), Criminal Mischief 4th degree (A misdemeanor), and harassment 2nd degree (violation).
On November 27th, State Police received a complaint from a victim stating that they had been involved in a domestic dispute with Kennedy. During the altercation, Kennedy shoved the victim to the ground multiple times, placed his hands around their throat, and caused damage to their vehicle as well as other personal property.
Kennedy was taken into custody and transported to SP New Scotland for processing. He was arraigned in Westerlo Town Court and remanded to Albany County Jail on $7,500 cash or bond. He is due back in court on a later date.
