On November 29, 2019, State Police in Saratoga arrested 48-year-old Jody A. Busier of Ballston Spa, for Driving While Intoxicated (misdemeanor) and Resisting Arrest (A misdemeanor). State Police also charged 55-year-old Lyle M. Bushey of Ballston Spa, for Assault 2nd degree (D felony), Obstruction of Governmental Administration (A misdemeanor), and Resisting Arrest (A misdemeanor).
State Police stopped Busier shortly after 11:00 p.m. on Friday, after she committed a traffic infraction while traveling on Geyser Road in Milton. Upon interviewing her, the Trooper could smell the odor of alcohol. Busier was administered the Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, which she failed.
When the Trooper tried to place Busier in custody, she resisted being placed in handcuffs. Once secured in a patrol car, she began kicking, attempting to damage the interior.
As the Trooper was securing Busier, her front seat passenger Lyle Bushey, became agitated and combative. A second Trooper who had arrived to assist, attempted to take Bushey into custody, Bushney resisted arrest and began fighting with police.
After a struggle, Bushey was secured in handcuffs with the assistance of a Saratoga County Deputy. The Trooper sustained a hand injury during the incident.
Both suspects were transported to SP Saratoga for processing. Busier provided a breath sample of .13% B.A.C. and was released with an appearance ticket for Milton Town Court on December 11, 2019.
Bushey was arraigned in Milton Town Court and remanded to Saratoga County Jail on $5,000 cash or $10,000 bond. He is due back in court on December 17, 2019 at 9:00 a.m.
