On January 8, 2020 New York State Police Liberty arrested Gary Klopchin, age 54 of Eldred, NY for Grand Larceny 3rd degree. (felony)

On December 26, 2019 state police Liberty responded to a local business in Eldred, NY for a report of a burglary. Preliminary investigation revealed that an unknown person entered the business on December 25, 2019 and stole over $18,000 in cash. During the course of the investigation it was determined that Gary Klopchin, an employee at the business entered the business and removed the cash from a safe.

On December 26, 2019, State police investigators learned that KLOPCHIN was staying at in a room at a casino in Wilkes Barre, PA . With the assistance of the Pennsylvania State Police and Plains Township Police Department, KLOPCHIN was detained until the New York State Police arrived. He was arrested as a Fugitive from Justice and remanded to the Luzerne County Prison in Wilkes-Barre, PA.

On January 8, 2020 New York State Police investigators patrolled to the Luzerne Correctional Facility and took KLOPCHIN into custody. He was later arraigned at the Sullivan County Court and released on his own recognizance.
