Syracuse man arrested for attempted burglary in Homer

On January 10, 2020 at approximately 7:12 p.m., New York State Police at Homer arrested Curtis D. McCormick, age 54 of Syracuse, NY for the felony of attempted Burglary in the second degree and the misdemeanor of Criminal Mischief in the fourth degree.
Troopers and Cortland County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to a residence on State Route 11 in the town of Homer at approximately 10:52 a.m., for a report of a burglary. An investigation revealed that McCormick attempted to break into the home but only smashed an exterior window, never making entry into the home before leaving the area.
Several hours later, McCormick was located by SP North Syracuse troopers in the city of Syracuse and arrested. He was transported to troopers in Homer and subsequently arraigned in the town of Homer court. McCormick was remanded to the Cortland County Jail on no bail.
