***UPDATE Names released*** State Police investigate serious accident involving a passenger vehicle and a tractor trailer on I-87 southbound in the village of Sloatsburg, Rockland County.

**UPDATE – Names Released**
State Police report that Louis M. Lupo, 52, of New Windsor, NY, remains in critical condition following the crash Monday, January 13, 2020.
David M. Bucci, 43, of Bel Air, MD, was in the sleeping berth of the tractor trailer, parked on the shoulder when the collision occurred and was not injured. 
The investigation is continuing.   

Sloatsburg, NY – On January 13, 2020, at approximately 7:30 a.m., State Police responded to a serious personal injury accident at mile marker 33.5 eastbound on I-87, in the village of Sloatsburg, Rockland County.
A preliminary investigation revealed a 2007 Toyota Avalon traveling southbound, exited the roadway on the right shoulder and struck the rear of a tractor trailer which was parked on the shoulder. 
The driver of the Toyota was extricated from the vehicle and transported to a nearby community field where he was airlifted to Westchester Medical Center with life threatening injuries and listed in critical condition. 
The occupant of the tractor trailer was not injured.  The crash remains under investigation. More information will be released as it becomes available.
