On January 9, 2020, State Police in Fonda arrested 37-year-old Lisandro Garcia of Amsterdam, for 7 counts of Burglary 3rd degree (D felony).

Garcia is accused of entering Target in Amsterdam on seven different occasions and stealing multiple vacuum cleaners. The total value of the stolen goods was over $5,500.00. Garcia had previously been issued a no trespass order by the business, prohibiting him from entering the property.

While State Police were at the store conducting the investigation, Garcia entered the property and attempted to leave with goods that he had not paid for. He was taken into custody and transported to SP Fonda for processing.

Garcia was arraigned in Amsterdam Town Court and remanded to Montgomery County Jail without bail. He is due back in court on a later date.
