Watervliet man arrested for felony drug possession in Yorktown

Yorktown, New York - On January 14, 2020 the New York State Police arrested Kenyatta Ingram Jr., age 30, of Watervliet, NY, for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 2nd degree, a class A felony, two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd degree, a class B felony, Obstruction of Governmental Administration, Resisting Arrest, both class A misdemeanors, and Disorderly Conduct, a violation.
At approximately 10:50 a.m., Troopers conducted a traffic stop on the Taconic State Parkway in the town of Yorktown of a 2019 Jeep Compass for a violation of the vehicle and traffic law. During the interview and investigation Ingram refused to comply with lawful orders and a struggle ensued.
A State Police K9 was utilized, and taser deployed before Ingram was taken into custody. Both the investigating Trooper and Ingram suffered injuries. Both were treated at the New York Presbyterian Hudson Valley Hospital.
Further investigation found Ingram was in possession of approximately 697 grams of MDMA(ecstasy), approximately 75 grams of marijuana, and approximately 34 grams of cocaine.
Ingram was arraigned before the town of Yorktown Court, and released on his own recognizance by the Honorable Judge Sal Lagonia. Ingram is next scheduled to appear before the Court on February 11, 2020 at 6 p.m.
