PRESS RELEASE

SP Clarence- Multi agency training at Spaulding Lake

On March 9, 2017, The New York State Police Underwater Recovery Team (URT) annually conducts winter or ice dive training.  Typically this is a consolidated regimen held in the Albany area.  This year the training is being held regionally with divers from Troops A, E, C, and D responding to Spaulding Lake in the Town of Clarence to conduct training on surface supply, helmet, and SCUBA operations.  The intent of this training is to ensure the NYSP divers can respond to underwater search and recovery missions in the safest and most efficient way possible.

Divers from the New Jersey State Police and Erie County Sheriff Department will join the NYSP divers.
