On March 12, 2017, State Police arrested a 14-year-old youth for making threats to shoot students at the Northern Adirondack Central School in Ellenburg. The youth has been charged with Making a Terroristic Threat, a class D Felony, and was issued an appearance ticket to appear in Clinton County Family Court at a later date. After coordination with the school, the suspect is not in school and there is no longer a threat.

The public can expect to see an increase in police presence by the State Police and Clinton County Sheriff’s Department at the school while this investigation continues.
